Tim Van Orden – Raw Runner – Tues. July 21

July 15th, 2009 — 3:32pm
Eight-two adults and a number of children packed the hall eager to hear Tim Van Orten , the Raw Food Runner, and enjoy Chef Susan Allison’s excellent demo making delicious gazpacho soup and hold hands in a large circle for Randy Jacobs’ inspiring blessing before enjoying a delicious dinner..  The hall was still packed at 9:45 pm when I, unfortunately, had to shoo people out since we have to lock up at 10 pm or pay double rent. One person enthusiastically remarked that she would gladly have come twice as far to hear Tim and she had driven two hours to hear him.

Tim urged us  to take our power back saying “You have a choice”.  Would each of you that came, please write your comments in the blog about what you learned that you now can incorporate into your lifestyle and/or pass on to help others?  See Tim’s blog for more information http://www.runningraw.com/blog.htm

Remember that our mission is “Heal Yourself and Heal the Planet’. Several people have strongly suggested that each time I write that I should remind people that Optimum Health Solution is a non-profit dedicated to eliminate obesity, chronic disease and mal-nutrition, especially in children, through the education and advocacy of healthy living.  This organization is run by unsalaried volunteers.  All proceeds from the Dinner Speaker series, the Life Force Energy classes and products sold are tax deductible and after expenses, go towards improving the nutrition in schools.  See the mission statement on the website and read about “Food is Elementary” curriculum in the public schools.  Contributions are welcome.

Thankfully Tim has videotaped the evening and has promised to send it to us, so that it will soon be on our website, www.optimumhealthsolution.org to be seen by all of you.

The food was scrumptious – I urge everyone to be adventurous and prepare and bring raw organic, uprocessed food which should be valued at least at $10.  If you are unable to bring it please pay by credit card on this blog in enough of an advance , so that I can make extra.  24 people paid for food at the door.  I made one huge bowl of salad and Nancy Zayre made 2 types of dressing to go with it.  Next time I will make at least 2 large bowls of salad.  For ideas, please look at the recipe section on the website to see over 300 delicious recipes typed in by volunteer Jeanne Gerber after each potluck.  Also check out “Raw Recipes” on YouTube to see step by step procedure to prepare quick and easy dishes. Or come to my classes and learn how to prepare them.  We’re making 3 quick and easy soups today.  Some of the photos and recipes will be in the next newsletter.
