*Unfortunately, due to budget constraints the following internship opportunities are currently unpaid.  If you are a student, we may be able to help you seek funding through your school’s work-study program, community service office, or fellowships.*

Communication Associate (non-paid)

(with opportunity to become Manager)

Qualifications:

  • Computer/internet skills: Microsoft Word, Pages, Excel, WordPress

Responsibilities at beginning:

Event Coordinator (non-paid)

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about promoting our mission: to eliminate obesity, chronic disease and malnutrition, especially in children, through education and advocacy of healthy living.
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience organizing events from start to finish
  • Self-reliant
  • Problem solver
  • Financial acumen
  • Both visionary and detailed

Responsibilities:

  • Mastermind events: strategic and financial plan from start to finish
  • Find venue with parking and on public transportation
  • Marketing
  • Coordinate all aspects at the event including the volunteers
  • Follow-up with financial report, evaluation and thank you letters

Teaching Assistant (non-paid)

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about promoting our mission: to eliminate obesity, chronic disease and malnutrition, especially in children, through education and advocacy of healthy living.
  • Deep interest in healthcare education
  • Availability on Wednesdays from 3 to 10 PM
  • Enjoy food preparations for food demo
  • Experience in Powerpoint or Keynote, Microsoft word, Exel, iPhoto,
  • Car availability a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Set up room for the class and cleanup afterwards
  • Attend quarterly 10 week, 30 credit course (at least one quarter)
  • Assist in preparing materials

Video Production Intern (non-paid)

Qualifications:

Responsibilities can be any one of the following and open for suggestions:

  • Filming one hour lectures for You Tube and on-line course

Elementary Education Intern (non-paid)

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about promoting our mission: to eliminate obesity, chronic disease and malnutrition, especially in children, through education and advocacy of healthy living.
  • Ability to write lesson plans conforming to state standards
  • Works well as a team member
  • Excellent writing skills to create a “How To” book for other organizations
  • Gardening experience preferred
  • Some understanding of planting, nutrition, reading labels, erosion, and weather conditions preferred
  • Love for children

Responsibilites

  • Research and write lesson plans
  • Develop class materials including games and craft projects
  • If schedule permits, Mondays at the Cambridge Girls and Boys Club  4 to 5 pm and Tuesdays at Mystic Learning Center from 4pm to 5pm.
